Dance Class Descriptions
- Jazz: Jazz is a free style of dance that emphasizes precision, freedom and high intensity of movement. Class always begins with a series of exercises to strengthen and build flexibility to avoid possible injury.
- Tap: Tap is an active class that consists of fundamentals rhythms created by the feet. Students will learn proper techniques and coordination of movements put into steps.
- Ballet: Ballet is the foundation of Dance. It is essential to develop the skills needed to become an excellent dancer such as: balance, discipline, poise and grace. Students are required to wear a solid color leotard and pink tights with hair pulled back from the face.
- Acrobatics: Acrobatics consists of all levels of tumbling. Students will work on improving strength, timing and technique. Students must wear fitted dance attire with hair pulled back, and no shoes or socks.
- Hip-hop: Hip-hop is an extremely fun style of dance that stresses personality and attitude. It is a "street dance" usually done to hip-hop music. There are now many different varieties of hip-hop styles, and at The Dance Company we try to learn as many different styles as we can. Hip-hop teaches the student to express themselves artistically, and gives them confidence in their individuality.
